1. Introduction
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Kloks platform (“Service”), operated from Finland. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
2. Account & Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. Each account must belong to an individual person — shared accounts are not permitted.
3. What We Collect & Why (GDPR)
Kloks processes personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Finnish data protection law. We collect:
- Your email address — for authentication and essential communication.
- Your name (optional) — to display within your groups.
- Group membership data — to provide the core service features.
Legal basis: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties beyond what is necessary to operate the Service (e.g. email delivery).
4. Your Rights
Under GDPR you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of your personal data.
- Rectification — correct inaccurate data via your profile.
- Erasure — delete your account and all personal data from Settings.
- Data portability — receive your data in a structured format.
- Object — object to processing of your data.

5. Data Storage & Security
Data is stored on servers within the EU. We use encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to production systems is restricted to authorised personnel only.
6. Cookies
Kloks uses only essential cookies required for authentication and session management. We do not use tracking cookies or analytics that require consent under the EU ePrivacy Directive.
7. User Content
Content you create within groups (events, documents, etc.) belongs to you. We do not claim ownership. By posting content you grant Kloks a limited licence to store and display it to other group members as intended by the Service.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for unlawful purposes.
- Upload harmful, offensive, or infringing content.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other accounts or systems.
- Use automated tools to scrape or overload the Service.
9. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms with prior notice where feasible.
10. Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by Finnish law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland. Disputes shall be resolved in the District Court of Helsinki, Finland.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notification at least 30 days before taking effect.
